
Guy Carpenter & Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Hettinger to lead its capital, structured risk, growth and rating agency advisory capabilities in the United States and Canada.
Mr. Hettinger will be based in the Chicago office and report to Rob Bentley, head of Global Strategic Advisory.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Bentley said, "We are delighted to announce the addition of Tom. He brings 26 years of experience in actuarial consulting, underwriting and reinsurance broking to Guy Carpenter. His strong capabilities in capital management and development of capital-efficient solutions will help our clients as they strive to achieve profitable growth in today's challenging and competitive environment. Tom's knowledge of the impact of predictive analytics on personal and commercial lines programs will add even more value for clients," Mr. Bentley added.
Most recently, Mr. Hettinger was responsible for underwriting and developing capital management and predictive modeling solutions at Arch Reinsurance Company. Prior to joining Arch, he served as the Americas Property and Casualty Sales and Practice Leader for Towers Watson, where he oversaw enterprise risk management, pricing, reserving, and mergers & acquisition efforts. Mr. Hettinger was also a founding partner of EMB America, which was acquired by Towers Watson in 2010. At EMB, where he worked with many of Guy Carpenter's global clients, he focused on the development of capital management solutions and predictive analytics strategy.
Mr. Hettinger is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
